beginning today for the man nominated to be the next secretary of state, senator john kerry is slated to go to the committee. it is the panel he chaired since 2009. kerry had not expected to draw that much resistance. let's put him if a little perspective politically. kerry served as president obama's mock debate partner during his re-election campaign. but he has pressured the administration at times urging the white house last year to speed up with the draul of u.s. troops from afghanistan. kerry was also influential in the administration's decision to intervene in libya. in case you forgot from his 2004 bid for the white house, he is one of the wealthiest members of the senate. he and wife teresa, heir to the heinz ketchup fortune are worth $180 million with a wide range of investments. in a letter to the state department legal adviser, kerry said he will divest any holdings that could be a conflict of interest within 90 days of being confirmed. he'll be introduced to day about the the current secretary hillary clinton. >>> today's appearance expected to take on a much different tone tha
